“This program is a directive from President Prabowo Subianto and is part of our national strategic agenda,” Karnavian said while leading an internal meeting on the acceleration of KDMP facilities and infrastructure in Jakarta.
According to the ministry’s statement, the task force will be co-chaired by Deputy Ministers of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto and Akhmad Wiyagus, with members drawn from senior ministry officials.
Karnavian urged regional governments to play a stronger role by preparing land or sites for the village cooperatives. He said the new task force will monitor regional progress and submit regular reports directly to him.

He added that the team will also help gather accurate and comprehensive data on achievements and obstacles in KDMP implementation across the country.
The data will serve as a basis for identifying challenges and improving coordination to speed up progress.
“This way, we can evaluate performance and support districts or cities that are still lagging behind,” Karnavian said.
The Home Affairs Ministry also plans to hold a technical coordination meeting with regional administrations to receive direct updates on the program’s progress.
Launched as one of President Prabowo’s flagship initiatives, the KDMP aims to boost rural economies through cooperatives that provide seven essential services — grocery stores, pharmacies, clinics, management offices, savings and loan services, storage facilities, and logistics support.
More than 81,000 cooperatives have already been established nationwide, with all expected to become fully operational by March 2026.
