Speaking at a press conference after a final meeting on the initiative, Sulaiman said the program covers the agriculture, plantation, horticulture, and livestock sectors.
“Under the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, we are pursuing downstreaming with the Investment and Downstream Industry Minister and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani. The total planned investment is approximately Rp371 trillion,” he said.
The effort is part of the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s Asta Cita missions, which aim to triple the value of export commodities and reduce reliance on raw exports.
According to Sulaiman, the government is committed to building stronger value chains from upstream to downstream, ensuring that key commodities provide greater benefits for farmers and livestock breeders.

Priority commodities for downstreaming include coconut, cocoa, cashew, palm oil, and hybrid coconuts, which are expected to boost exports and create jobs.
He said that improving domestic processing could raise coconut export value from Rp24 trillion to as much as Rp2,400 trillion. In North Maluku, coconut prices have already jumped from Rp600 to Rp3,500 per fruit since processing initiatives began.
The program aims to create three million new jobs in plantations, livestock, and horticulture over the next four years.
Rosan Roeslani said Danantara will accelerate investment realization and monitor all projects to ensure they deliver direct benefits.
“We will provide full support and take part in evaluating every downstreaming program to ensure timely implementation,” he said.
