Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Cultural Exhibition in the Eastern Region is serving as a platform for cross-national unity and cultural connectivity among Pacific communities through shared heritage and ancestral traditions, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon said.

"What we witness today is a real form of synergy, where artists, cultural practitioners, and communities from across the archipelago and the Pacific come together," he said while inaugurating the exhibition in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Tuesday.

The exhibition is part of the Indonesia-Pacific Cultural Synergy (IPACS) 2025 series held in the city.

Zon said Indonesia and the Pacific nations share a common vision to advance culture as a vital force in global civilization.

"IPACS 2025 is both a tribute and a celebration of cultural heritage rooted in NTT's soil. It also reflects Indonesia's commitment to promoting culture as a key driver of regional cooperation," he remarked.

Carrying the theme "Celebrating Shared Cultures and Community Wisdom," the event features delegations from 13 Pacific countries.

The Ministry of Culture also presents a special pavilion titled "The Listening Thread," an initiative to empower cultural actors and practitioners, especially from eastern Indonesia.

Zon expressed pride in presenting the pavilion as a space where diverse cultural narratives intertwine, weaving stories and identities that reflect Indonesia’s rich diversity.

The exhibition showcases at least 15 pavilions featuring traditional crafts, ikat weaving, local cuisine, and products made by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), along with other cultural expressions from across the province.

Held from November 11–13, the event is open to the public and aims to strengthen Indonesia's cultural diplomacy in the Pacific while reinforcing NTT's role as a maritime cultural hub.
