Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jordan’s King Abdullah II is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with representatives of Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara Indonesia, to discuss strategic investment opportunities—particularly in phosphate commodities.

Phosphate is a key export for Jordan and a vital input for Indonesia’s agricultural and industrial sectors.

Foreign Minister Sugiono confirmed here, Friday, that the meeting is part of a broader bilateral agenda aimed at deepening economic cooperation across multiple sectors.

The King will be accompanied by a delegation from the Hashemite Kingdom, underscoring the significance of the engagement.

While President Prabowo Subianto is not expected to attend the Danantara meeting, he will accompany King Abdullah II to the airport following the conclusion of the official program. The two leaders are also expected to sign a bilateral memorandum of understanding during the King’s stay in Jakarta.

Sugiono noted that Indonesia and Jordan have a longstanding partnership in defense and security, including joint training programs.

Both countries are committed to expanding their strategic collaboration beyond traditional sectors.

The meeting with Danantara marks a key moment in Indonesia–Jordan relations, building on President Prabowo’s visit to Amman on April 14, 2025, where he met King Abdullah II at Al Husseiniya Palace.

It also aligns with the King’s broader regional tour, which includes stops in Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, and Pakistan.
