This year, 288,000 units are scheduled for delivery to 330,000 schools across the country.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto on Monday launched a nationwide rollout of interactive flat panels, or smartboards, as part of his government’s drive to digitalize classrooms and modernize public education.

Prabowo arrived at State Middle School 4 Bekasi at around 10:45 a.m. local time, traveling in the presidential Maung MV and accompanied by cabinet officials, regional leaders and private-sector partners.

He was greeted by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti, Presidential Staff Chief Muhammad Kodari and executives involved in the program.

Under the theme “Digitalization for a Smart Indonesia,” Prabowo inspected school facilities and observed a live demonstration of the smartboard.

Teachers and students showcased remote-learning features that allow real-time interaction between instructors and pupils, offering a more collaborative experience than traditional one-way smart TVs. Officials said the technology aims to make lessons more engaging while standardising digital tools across Indonesia’s vast school network.

The initiative aligns with a 2025 presidential instruction on education revitalisation, the development of model schools and the acceleration of digital learning.

The government plans to install a smartboard in every classroom. This year, 288,000 units are scheduled for delivery to 330,000 schools across the country.

According to the latest data, shipments have reached 215,572 units, with 172,550 already delivered to schools and 43,022 still in transit. Authorities expect all devices to arrive at designated schools by December 2025, enabling educators to integrate digital content more effectively into lessons.

President Prabowo has promoted classroom technology as a key part of improving learning outcomes and narrowing regional gaps in access to quality education.

During the visit, he encouraged teachers to experiment with interactive tools and highlighted the importance of preparing students for an increasingly digital economy. Officials say broader adoption of smartboards could help support hybrid learning, improve connectivity among remote schools and foster greater student participation.

The rollout marks one of the administration’s most ambitious education upgrades to date, reflecting Prabowo’s pledge to modernize Indonesia’s classrooms and expand digital infrastructure nationwide.

Meanwhile, students at Panunggalan 2 Elementary School in Tunjung Teja, Serang, Banten, welcomed the arrival of the digital smartboard sent by President Prabowo. According to the Cabinet Secretariat, teachers and students greeted the equipment as it arrived in the school yard.
