The Task Force's Head of the Diplomacy and Communications Division, Bara Krishna Hasibuan, said that the temporary suspension was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Environment upon the recommendation of the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (Bapeten).
"The Task Force has taken action to temporarily suspend the company's operations while the government completes its environmental audit," Hasibuan explained on Monday.
PT Luckione Environmental Science Indonesia is a metal smelting company located in the Cikande Modern Industrial Area (MCIE) in Serang District, Banten.
On November 14, 2025, Tanjung Priok Port authorities discovered eight containers of zinc powder contaminated with Cs-137 originating from Angola. The containers are currently being held pending administrative processing for re-export, Hasibuan said.
According to him, this discovery was the fourth incident successfully prevented by port authorities, following previous shipments were found to have originated from the Philippines. All of these imports were handled by the same company.
He stressed that the government will not allow any harmful business practices that threaten national security, public health, or public safety.
"We urge the company to fully cooperate with the task force in the upcoming audit process," he emphasized.
The task force is also addressing the discovery of Cs-137 contamination in two containers of footwear returned from the United States. Following discussions with the manufacturer, all the products will be destroyed.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), as the certifying entity, has scanned 920 containers of shrimp products destined for export to the United States. Of that number, 121 containers have been shipped, and 262 containers have been declared ready for departure.
Hasibuan lauded the ministry for its effective certification process, which ensured the safety of export products and prevented the re-entry of goods contaminated with Cs-137 into Indonesian territory.
"This step demonstrates the government's commitment to addressing the impact of Cs-137 contamination in the country," he remarked.
