TNI-AL Information Service head Rear Admiral Tunggul said the Navy is preparing roughly 25 percent of the personnel requested for the mission.
He said selected personnel must have medical and construction engineering expertise to support humanitarian operations, treat civilian war victims, and build temporary facilities in Gaza. The internal selection process remains underway.
National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto earlier said the deployment will comprise three composite brigades, including medical and construction engineering battalions, support units, and mechanized elements.
Agus said the mission will proceed only after an advance team assesses field conditions and identifies suitable deployment sites in Gaza. He did not provide a timeline, noting the military is awaiting government approval.
