Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of Home Affairs said it is accelerating the rollout of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchens, known as SPPGs, in frontier, outermost and underdeveloped regions to strengthen the national program.

“We are accelerating the establishment of SPPG locations, especially in 3T areas,” Deputy Home Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto said on Wednesday, stressing the ministry’s commitment to President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic initiatives.

He said the ministry continues to encourage regional governments to support the development of Red and White Village Cooperatives, which have been prioritized throughout the past year as part of broader economic strengthening.

Capacity-building programs are being expanded for regional officials, including sub-district heads, village chiefs and urban community leaders, to improve implementation of national priority programs.

The ministry has also formed a special task force to identify government-owned land suitable for cooperative facilities and related infrastructure.

“The task force focuses on land mapping, including village, district, ministerial and state-owned enterprise assets that can be used for cooperative development,” Bima said.

The ministry is further supporting the Free Health Check-up (CKG) Program by ensuring service readiness across regions and coordinating regional responses to tuberculosis.

For the Three Million Homes Program, the ministry is working to expand housing access for low-income families through exemptions for land and building acquisition fees and building approval levies, along with faster permit processing.

Support for the Garuda School and Sekolah Rakyat education programs includes facilitating land provision, optimizing regional assets and ensuring the availability of teaching staff.

Bima said the ministry is also monitoring irrigation systems, fertilizer distribution and land-use coordination to support food self-sufficiency and prevent agricultural land conversion.

He noted that regional governments are expected to align development priorities with national targets, particularly in nutrition, housing, health and education.

The ministry, he added, will continue coordinating closely with local administrations to ensure that strategic programs are implemented effectively and reach targeted communities.
