Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling the needs of health human resources to ensure equitable access to healthcare services nationwide.

“The Ministry is committed to expediting the fulfillment of health workers to guarantee access to healthcare for the public,” Director General of Health Human Resources, Yuli Farianti, said during a working meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) here on Wednesday.

She emphasized the ongoing need to enhance protection for healthcare workers, which includes legal certainty, fair salaries and wages, health coverage, and opportunities for competency development.

Farianti highlighted efforts to boost interest and resilience among medical personnel serving in underdeveloped, border, and island regions. Special allowances will be provided for specialist or subspecialist doctors and dental specialists assigned to these areas.

The allowance budget is approximately Rp30 million per health worker, targeted to begin in November-December this year, following the issuance of derivative regulations of Ministry of Health Regulation No. 10 of 2025.

The regulation stipulates special allowances for specialist doctors, subspecialist doctors, specialist dentists, and subspecialist dentists serving in underdeveloped, border, and island areas.

Priority will be given to doctors practicing in areas meeting specific criteria, including those with limited access, areas with a shortage of medical personnel, and locations requiring affirmative action or support and assistance from the central government.

In addition, the government is ready to collaborate with professional organizations and other stakeholders to ensure health personnel competencies meet service standards.

The Health Ministry also encourages regional governments to nominate top local candidates for scholarships under various schemes, including Health Human Resources scholarships, Teaching Hospitals, and other special assignments.

“We are continuously working to improve the welfare of health human resources across all regions,” Farianti affirmed.
