Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Government distributed aid to victims of floods and landslides in North Sumatra.

Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno, emphasized that a quick response is a top priority in dealing with this emergency situation.

"We immediately act and respond to the disaster in Sumatra. I asked that aid be collected today so it can be sent immediately," he said in Jakarta on Saturday.

This aid distribution is also supported by all Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD).

According to him, intensive coordination continues to ensure that aid meets the needs of residents on the ground. "We make sure that the aid sent is the most needed, based on direct reports from the disaster management team already on standby at the location," he said.

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) distributed 1,000 ready-to-eat meal packages, blankets, and supplies for family and children. Aid from BUMDs also came from various sectors, as a form of mutual cooperation and solidarity among residents.

BUMD assistance included basic necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, even clean water tanks, and other basic necessities.

Participants of BUMD are PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, PAM Jaya, PT Jakarta Tourisindo, Dharma Jaya, PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), Jamkrida, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), MRT Jakarta, PAL Jaya, Transjakarta, Pasar Jaya, and Sarana Jaya.

"The Jakarta Government hopes this support will help early recovery and strengthen solidarity across regions," he said.
