Jakarta (ANTARA) - State logistics agency Bulog has stepped up efforts to support flood and landslide victims in Sumatra, among others, by distributing 73.19 tons of rice to communities in Aceh affected by the disasters.

“Bulog will provide maximum support to flood victims, whether in Aceh, North Sumatra, or West Sumatra,” Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said here on Saturday.

In detail, Bulog has distributed a total of 73.1 tons of rice to Aceh from regional warehouses, including six tons to Banda Aceh, nine tons to Lhokseumawe, 25 tons to Bireuen, and additional allocations to other districts.

In North Sumatra, Bulog has delivered 40 tons of rice to affected districts, including seven tons to Mandailing Natal, seven tons to Tapanuli Selatan, eight tons to Tapanuli Tengah, five tons to Sibolga, three tons to Padang Sidempuan, three tons to Tapanuli Utara, five tons to Deli Serdang, and two tons to Humbang Hasundutan. West Sumatra has received 42.6 tons.

Ramdhani emphasized that Bulog is closely monitoring distribution channels to ensure aid reaches every affected community efficiently.

Moreover, he expressed prayers for victims of floods in Sumatra, while emphasizing that part of the rice aid has already been distributed to help ease the burden on affected residents.

The prayers were offered for the safety of those still sick, missing victims, and the resilience of evacuees enduring hardship due to widespread damage.

Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture has also sent a total of 32,700 tons of rice and 6,300 tons of cooking oil to support flood victims across the three provinces.
