“We continue to speed up island inventory and certification with institutions like the KKP to ensure all outermost islands obtain legal land status to bolster security and safety,” Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) Ossy Dermawan said in a statement.
He said cooperation between BPN and KKP has reinforced legal protection for coastal zones and small islands. The Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry has granted several awards to BPN for its role in expediting island certification.
“We at the ATR/BPN Ministry are honored to receive this recognition, which reflects our joint work in certifying small outer islands and strengthening national sovereignty in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives,” Dermawan said.
BPN received the award for accelerating the issuance of Right of Use Certificates on behalf of the government through the KKP.
The recognition includes certificates issued for land parcels on Lusi Island by the Sidoarjo District Land Office; Mega Island by the North Bengkulu District Land Office; and several islands under the West Sulawesi Provincial Land Office.
It also covers certification for 10 uninhabited islands handled by the Mamuju District Land Office, Batek Island by the Kupang District Land Office, and Salaut Besar Island by the Simeulue District Land Office.
