"Actually, my visit was just for consultation, but now, in fact, it is simply to express gratitude because the relationship between Russia and Indonesia is now at a very good level for us," Prabowo said at the meeting streamed on YouTube.
On that occasion, President Prabowo also expressed appreciation to President Putin for receiving his visit amid his busy schedule.
"I understand that President Putin's agenda is very busy, and I thank you for receiving me on such short notice," the president said.
Meanwhile, Putin remarked that he was pleased to welcome the arrival of President Prabowo and the Indonesian delegation to Russia.
He also expressed appreciation for President Prabowo's participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025 last June.
President Putin said that the ties between Russia and Indonesia have developed very consistently this year, which also coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
President Prabowo arrived in Moscow on Wednesday after concluding his visit to Islamabad, Pakistan, on December 8-9.
This marks the second time President Prabowo has met with President Putin in Russia this year, after his state visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, on June 18–20.
During his first visit, Prabowo met with Putin and attended the SPIEF 2025.
