Data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) shows a significant decrease in online gambling transactions in 2025. Through the third quarter of the year, the turnover of online gambling funds reached Rp155 trillion, or about US$9.27 billion, down 57 percent from 2024.
“PPATK data is a highly credible indicator that our policies, ranging from monitoring and access blocking to law enforcement efforts, are effective and well targeted,” Hafid said in a statement on Thursday.
She added that the decline represents a collective achievement by the government and the public, and demonstrates the state’s presence in protecting citizens, particularly vulnerable groups, from the negative impacts of online gambling.
Hafid said the government will continue to strengthen supervision and intensify enforcement against all forms of online gambling. Efforts will focus on restricting perpetrators’ activities by targeting content, digital infrastructure, and financial flows.
She noted that her ministry has consistently blocked access to online gambling content and websites operating within Indonesia’s digital space.
“We take swift action on every report and system finding as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy digital environment,” she said.
Earlier, PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana said the turnover of online gambling funds reached Rp155.4 trillion in 2025, a sharp decline from Rp359.8 trillion in 2024.
PPATK also recorded a significant reduction in the number of online gambling players, which fell from 9.7 million in 2024 to 3.1 million in 2025.
