Antonius Sinaga, head of Catholic Community Guidance at the ministry's Jakarta Regional Office, said the theme reflects God's love amid difficulties and offers a basis for restoring healthy family relationships.
He said the concept of salvation is not limited to a historical narrative but is present in challenges faced by modern families, including economic pressures, mental health issues and intergenerational relations.
"Many families today are facing internal conflicts, the impacts of natural disasters and anxiety about the future," Sinaga said.
He said this year's Christmas celebration is expected to encourage Catholic families, including those in the Archdiocese of Jakarta, to grow together and promote ecological awareness.
He added that Christmas should not be merely ceremonial but should have a tangible impact on people’s lives and well-being.
Separately, Adib, head of the ministry's Jakarta Regional Office, urged Christians and Jakarta residents to maintain harmony, respect diversity, strengthen fraternity and foster solidarity.
He also called for solidarity with communities affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
Adib said the welcoming of the New Year 2026 should be marked with awareness and empathy toward communities in Sumatra still recovering from natural disasters.
