Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of Jakarta Transportation Office, Syafrin Liputo, said that based on preliminary data collected from December 18 to 25, 2025, passenger flows and traffic in the city remained relatively stable and well controlled.

“Our data shows that mobility during Christmas 2025 was dynamic yet well-managed. This is the result of preparedness across all levels and solid collaboration between the government, transport operators, and related authorities,” Liputo said here on Friday.

By 11:59 p.m. on December 25, seven intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) terminals in Jakarta recorded a total of 11,516 passengers, consisting of 4,618 arrivals and 6,898 departures.

Compared to normal periods, passenger numbers rose 78.82 percent, but fell 3.85 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

Some terminals, including Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal and Tanjung Priok Terminal, recorded significant passenger increases compared to normal days, indicating a more evenly distributed movement of people across the city.

Cumulatively from December 18-24, 2025, total passengers at the seven AKAP terminals reached 83,090, a 16.48 percent decrease compared to Christmas 2024.

Meanwhile, traffic volume at four main toll gates in Jakarta on Christmas Day recorded 134,429 vehicles entering and 184,573 vehicles exiting the city. Overall, toll road traffic fell 0.81 percent, reflecting a better distribution of travel.

“Vehicle movement was stable, with minor fluctuations at certain toll gates compared to last year,” Liputo added.

Monitoring through 18 Traffic Control System (SPLL) sensors recorded around 2.1 million vehicles entering and leaving Jakarta on Christmas Day, indicating traffic remained under control compared to normal periods.

In maritime transport to the Seribu Islands, 4,516 passengers were recorded on Christmas Day, an increase of 313.78 percent compared to normal periods and nearly 80 percent higher than Christmas 2024.

Meanwhile, long-distance train services at Gambir, Pasar Senen, and Jatinegara stations served a total of 62,625 passengers, up 1.33 percent from previous periods, with operations running smoothly and on schedule.
