Visiting the Kodam I/Bukit Barisan Health Post, the President led evacuees in singing national songs such as “Tanah Air” and “Rayuan Pulau Kelapa.”
The modest gathering was intended to offer hope to residents displaced by recent natural disasters.
“Happy New Year, 2026. May the Almighty always grant the best to all of us,” President Prabowo told the crowd.
Accompanied by several ministers, he led a joint prayer for those affected by ongoing crises across the country.
“We are facing difficulties, disasters, and challenges. But we must remain resilient, sincere, and strong,” he said.
During the visit, the President mingled with residents, shaking hands and listening to specific concerns regarding shelter conditions and the transition out of the emergency response phase.
He assured the evacuees that the government remains fully committed to their recovery.
He added that his cabinet is currently operating on a rotating basis to ensure ministers are physically present to monitor developments in all affected regions.
