The visit aimed to allow the president to directly assess the condition of the buildings and the completeness of facilities prepared for affected residents.
Prior to the inspection, Prabowo greeted and interacted with local residents who had gathered to welcome his arrival. He then proceeded to tour the housing complex, accompanied by Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, also known as Mualem. Construction of the housing project began on Dec. 24, 2025.
During the inspection, Danantara Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani briefed the president on the progress of the project. He said Danantara is currently building 600 housing units, equipped with supporting facilities including five residential buildings with toilets and bathrooms, 14 communal kitchens, prayer rooms, and a playground.
The housing units are also furnished with beds, electric fans, and free WiFi access to meet the basic needs of residents.
Roeslani said 198 units were completed as of Jan. 1, 2026, while all 600 units are expected to be ready for occupancy by Jan. 8, 2026. Danantara is targeting the construction of a total of 15,000 housing units within three months.
During the visit, Prabowo asked several questions, including about the materials used in the construction.
“These are made of metal sheets, right?” he asked.
The discussion involved Governor Manaf, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Danantara Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria.
Following the inspection, Prabowo convened a closed-door meeting with 10 ministers, Governor Manaf, Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhullah, Aceh Tamiang Regent Armia Pahmi, and other officials.
The presidential delegation included State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy I Wijaya, Coordinating Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Deputy Commander Gen. Tandyo Budi Revita, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak, and Head of the Government Communication Office Angga R. Prabowo.
