At a limited meeting in Aceh Tamiang District, Aceh Province, on Thursday, he underscored the importance of cross-sector coordination to avoid overlaps with disaster relief projects already being carried out by the BNPB and other state institutions.
“It is crucial to communicate with regional governments, with governors,” Prabowo told Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani during the discussion.
Emphasizing the role of regional administrations, the president highlighted the need for governors, district heads, and mayors to conduct construction site assessments and forward the results to Danantara.
“We must ensure that all mobilized resources deliver tangible benefits to the people, with nothing wasted,” he affirmed.
In his remarks, the head of state praised Danantara for swiftly constructing 600 housing units out of the 15,000 it has been tasked to develop for residents displaced by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra in November 2025.
The meeting was held at the Danantara Housing Complex, where President Prabowo toured the site to greet construction workers before chairing the discussion.
Danantara has been tasked with coordinating state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in developing the complex, which is equipped with WiFi and electricity networks and includes children’s playgrounds, communal kitchens, toilets, and drainage systems.
CEO Roeslani reported to President Prabowo that hundreds of temporary housing units already built by Danantara will be handed over to local authorities on Thursday to shelter disaster victims until they move into permanent residences.
The limited meeting brought together several high-ranking officials, including Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, BNPB Head Suharyanto, and Head of the SOE Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria.
Also in attendance were Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, and directors of 15 SOEs involved in the housing project.
