"The incentives for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr are being prepared," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said on the sidelines of the Road to Jakarta Food Security Summit on Tuesday.
Hartarto stated the Eid incentives include discounted airfares, travel support policies, and other incentives to ensure the smooth flow of homecoming.
He then conveyed hopes that the incentives will reduce travel costs, improve public comfort, and stimulate the tourism, transportation, and domestic consumption sectors.
Previously, the government had also provided incentives for Eid al-Fitr 2025.
President Prabowo Subianto announced eight policies to boost economic growth in the first quarter of 2025, including incentives to boost public purchasing power.
One of these was the 2025 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr stimulus, which included discounted airline tickets, discounted toll fees, shopping discount programs such as Harbolnas (National Online Shopping Day) 2025, the EPIC Sales 2025 program, and BINA Diskon 2025.
During last year's Eid al-Fitr period, Prabowo instructed a reduction in toll fees and airline ticket prices to make travel easier for the public.
This policy was implemented as part of the government's efforts to support the smooth flow of homecoming travelers and ensure the comfort of the public during Ramadan and celebrating the holidays.
In addition, toll rates on several main roads will also be reduced during the Eid al-Fitr and Nyepi holidays, which fall close together this year.
The 2026 Nyepi (Silence Day) will fall on March 19, while the 2026 Eid-al-Fitr is predicted on March 21.
The head of state also instructed the Transportation Minister, the State-Owned Enterprises Minister, the Public Works Minister, and all relevant stakeholders to continue monitoring and ensuring the smooth operation of transportation facilities and public services during that period.
