KSP official Iwan Eka reported that the aid shipments include thousands of items of clothing and staple commodities, as well as basic equipment for infants and children.
“Today, assistance from the Presidential Staff Office arrived at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport for distribution to the Aceh districts of Pidie and Pidie Jaya. The aid includes floating pumps, clothing, and children’s toys,” he stated.
Eka added that the KSP has mobilized 10 pumps to accelerate the subsidence of floodwaters in affected areas, noting that seven units have arrived while the remaining three are still in transit.
“The floating pumps we sent are intended to help residents clear their homes of floodwaters more quickly, enabling them to resume daily activities and cope with physical and psychological challenges,” he pointed out.
The official further explained that the KSP opted for floating pumps because of their portability, noting that such equipment can be deployed in areas inaccessible to heavy machinery.
In addition to pumps, Eka said his office is preparing shipments of water purifiers to help flood-affected residents access clean water for both washing and drinking.
He emphasized that aid distribution is being prioritized for densely populated areas and public facilities are still struggling to recover from the disasters, which claimed more than 1,000 lives across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
The KSP, he added, is also focusing on relief initiatives to support communities in recovering socially and mentally from the tragedy, as reflected in the provision of children’s toys.
