Edy Prakoso, director of operations at Basarnas, said that the aircraft went missing en route from Yogyakarta to Makassar, South Sulawesi's capital.
"The aircraft carried 11 people, comprising 8 flight crew members and 3 passengers. The flight made last contact at 1:17 p.m. local time," he noted.
Confirming data provided by AirNav Indonesia, he said that the plane's last position was detected at coordinates 04°57’08” S latitude and 119°42’54” E longitude, approximately in the Leang-Leang region in Maros District.
Prakoso said that the SAR office in Makassar promptly mobilized its search crews upon receiving the missing plane report from AirNav Indonesia.
The 25 deployed officers are divided into three groups to look for the missing aircraft, registered as PK-THT, he added.
"The personnel are on their way to the last identified point in Leang-Leang," he said.
For the operation, the SAR team is equipped with one personnel truck, one rescue vehicle, and one drone unit for aerial search.
The search operation is ongoing, and Basarnas will proceed with their operation intensively until the conditions of the plane, along with its passengers, are known, Prakoso remarked.
