He stressed that the law on political parties also does not address permanent coalitions. The upcoming revision of the Election Law is part of follow-up steps based on the Constitutional Court's (MK's) ruling.
“The Election Law does not regulate permanent coalitions, and political parties also do not regulate that,” he said at the Presidential Palace here on Monday.
He added that the government has coordinated with the leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR) regarding the revision to align key points in the Inventory of Problems (DIM) that will be discussed.
“This coordination is routine, as it actually began in the previous period and is included in the 2026 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas),” he said.
According to Hadi, the government is also evaluating previous electoral processes, including implementation, concepts, and the discussion on the potential use of e-voting in elections.
Most importantly, Hadi emphasized that the government approaches the revision with a positive and constructive spirit for the benefit of the nation and the state.
“We must be able to seek improvements for the sake of the nation and state,” he said.
Earlier, the 2025 National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas I) of Golkar Party produced several recommendations, including encouraging permanent coalitions as a form of binding political cooperation in parliament and government.
The purpose of a permanent coalition is to ensure that strategic government policies receive stable political support, speed up decision-making processes, and maintain continuity of national development in the long term.
