The head of Emergency and Logistics at the West Java BPBD, Bambang Imanudin, said that prolonged rain is hampering the joint Basarnas (National Search and Rescue) and SAR (Search and Rescue) team's search efforts.
"The team is actually ready, but the heavy rain is causing difficulties," Imanudin remarked.
He noted that heavy equipment from the BPBD and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) has been deployed around the location, but coordination is still ongoing regarding access to the landslide site.
"The ground is still soft and there is still some movement of material, so we must ensure a safe route for heavy equipment," he continued.
According to Imanudin, the search area stretches approximately three kilometers, from the peak to the left side of the slope, requiring more time and extra caution for the evacuation process.

He then informed that around 400 residents from Pasirlangu Village had to be evacuated by a joint team of officers due to the disaster.
Residents' current urgent needs include mattresses, blankets, and basic necessities, as they are still staying in evacuation centers, he added.
"The number of displaced residents is currently estimated at around 400. Regarding logistics, we hope everything is sufficient, including aid from the provincial government, which has begun arriving," he remarked.
As of Saturday afternoon, nine residents were confirmed dead, and dozens of homes were reported buried by landslides and mud.
Meanwhile, Cisarua Sub-district police Chief Adjunct Commissioner Yogaswara urged local residents to remain vigilant and stay away from affected areas, as unstable ground may trigger another landslide.
"We exert our efforts in searching for the missing victims while ensuring the safety of rescue workers," Yogaswara said.
