The statement, made at the Presidential Palace ahead of the inauguration of National Energy Council members, comes amid growing rumors regarding the stability and composition of the current administration.
The Minister clarified that while a leadership change is occurring, it is a specific reassignment rather than a political shake-up.
Thomas Djiwandono, the current Deputy Finance Minister, is transitioning to become the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, the nation's central bank.
"If a reshuffle is interpreted as the process of the Deputy Finance Minister moving to Bank Indonesia—which has already passed the parliamentary screening—then that is accurate," Hadi explained. "This means a deputy finance minister post will be vacated due to this new assignment."
Hadi emphasized that the government has not yet selected a replacement for the deputy finance minister role.
The administration is waiting for the formal completion of Djiwandono’s appointment to the central bank before moving forward.
The Minister also pushed back against reports that a shortlist of candidates is already being discussed.
He noted that President Prabowo Subianto will conduct a formal review and consult directly with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa before naming a successor.
