In a statement received here on Friday, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the policy reflects the government’s commitment to ensure that the hospital remains a public asset that is widely accessible to the community.
“This hospital must be properly maintained. It belongs to the Indonesian people,” Sadikin said.
Located at Solo Technopark, the Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital has treated 582 patients since officially commencing operations.
Built through a grant from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government, the hospital is currently prioritizing service integration to enable it to accept BPJS Kesehatan patients in the near future, thereby broadening health service coverage for all segments of society.
Surakarta Mayor Respati Ahmad Ardianto said the administrative process required for the hospital to participate in the national health insurance scheme is being accelerated.
“We are working to complete the process within the next six months so the hospital can begin serving BPJS Kesehatan patients,” Ardianto said.
Hospital management, represented by Eniarti, President Director of Dr. Sardjito General Hospital as the supervising institution, emphasized that affordability is a key mission of the hospital’s operations.
“At present, we are making every effort to serve BPJS Kesehatan patients so that these services can be accessed by all levels of society,” Eniarti said.
Looking ahead, BPJS Kesehatan services at the hospital will be supported by advanced medical technologies, including a Hybrid Cath Lab and magnetic resonance imaging facilities.
The integration with BPJS Kesehatan is expected to accelerate the treatment of complex cardiac cases, particularly for patients who previously faced financial barriers, given that heart attacks require immediate medical intervention during the critical golden period.
