The Joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team evacuated more bodies in four body bags from landslide victims in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua Sub-district, West Bandung District, on the eighth day of the search operation.

Head of the Bandung SAR Office, Ade Dian Permana, on Saturday, informed that those bodies were evacuated in four body bags from several different search points (worksite) in less than two hours.

"We evacuated the first body in the body bag at 9:29 a.m. at Worksite B2, Sector B. Then, at 10:23 a.m., the team recovered a body bag from Worksite A1, and at 10:58 and 11:19 a.m., two more body bags were recovered from Worksite A2," he detailed.

With these additional findings, his team has collected 64 body bags as of 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, with an estimated 16 victims still being searched for.

Permana outlined that the SAR operation entered its eighth day with searches still underway, as personnel were assigned to three primary sectors—A, B, and C—using manual techniques, K9 units, and heavy machinery.

"A total of 3,675 joint personnel were deployed in this operation, supported by 17 units of heavy equipment and 22 K9 search dogs spread across all search sectors," he added.

Meanwhile, the DVI team of the National Police reported that 49 body bags have been identified, and 13 more are still being examined.​​​​​​​ Permana conveyed that the search operation will continue in accordance with the decree of the West Bandung District Head, who declared a two-week landslide emergency response.

"In accordance with the direction of the Head of Basarnas, the search operation will continue, while adhering to the emergency response period set by the West Bandung District Head, until February 6, 2026," he remarked.
