Prabowo delivered the message during his briefing at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of central and regional governments at the Sentul International Convention Center in Bogor, West Java, on Monday.
“We must struggle together. All elements, all levels, all backgrounds, all parties. We must unite and fight to eliminate poverty from Indonesia,” Prabowo said, urging resolve despite economic difficulties.
He said Indonesia continues to face major challenges, particularly in reducing poverty and improving public welfare, despite progress in other areas of national development.
The president warned that the country’s vast natural wealth has not yet translated into prosperity for all, with many Indonesians still living in hardship.
“We must acknowledge honestly that we still face difficulties, challenges and shortcomings. Many of our people continue to struggle in their daily lives,” Prabowo said.
He said such realities must be confronted openly and addressed collectively by government, business and society to achieve lasting solutions.

In his address, Prabowo also reminded leaders at all levels of their responsibilities and the ethical demands of public office.
He said political leaders and elites across sectors carry a moral obligation to safeguard and manage national resources for the greatest benefit of the people.
“I call on all of us as leaders to strengthen our resolve, correct ourselves and our surroundings, and commit to protecting and managing our natural wealth for the people,” he said.
Prabowo stressed the importance of national unity and rejected hostility driven by political differences or electoral rivalry.
He said political competition was natural in a democracy, but divisions must end once elections conclude so leaders can refocus on public service.
“Winning and losing are normal. What matters is that we serve the Indonesian nation and its people,” Prabowo said.
The president also reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive and fair leadership, pledging to govern without discrimination based on political affiliation or regional election outcomes.
“My duty and responsibility are to all Indonesian people,” Prabowo said, underscoring unity as the foundation of his administration’s poverty eradication agenda.
