Jakarta (ANTARA) - Transmigration Minister M. Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara said more than 13 thousand transmigrants across 22 provinces have received land ownership certificates (SHM) in 2025.

“In 2025, more than 13 thousand transmigrants have finally obtained SHM. This is delayed justice that has now been fulfilled. There is certainly much more we need to do going forward, but we are optimistic that transmigration land issues can be fully resolved,” Suryanagara said here on Thursday.

The Ministry of Transmigration recognizes that land and human resources are the most valuable assets of transmigration programs.

“Therefore, one of our main focuses is the swift, legal, and conflict-free resolution of transmigration land issues. With the motto ‘Land Resolved, Hope Restored,’ we are addressing land problems that have been left unresolved for decades,” he said.

For the ministry, land certificates are not merely documents but provide legal certainty, peace of mind, and economic capital for the people.

The ministry also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) for its cooperation, assistance, and support.

Suryanagara said his ministry would soon finalize the legal status of 17,655 land plots owned by 8,052 transmigrant families that currently overlap with forest areas.

He said legal certainty is required to issue land ownership certificates for the transmigrants.

According to him, the land issue is not merely administrative but also affects the economic future and sense of security of transmigrant families.

The ministry recorded that the 17,655 land plots are spread across 85 locations.

To accelerate resolution, the government has prepared several schemes, including releasing 26 locations from forest areas, resolving 39 locations through long-term social forestry schemes of up to 35 years, and immediately issuing SHM for locations with clear status.
