"This aims to expand the coverage of nutrition fulfillment services and ensure increased access for beneficiaries to nutritious food," said National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, at the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony for 1,179 SPPGs and 18 Polri Food Security Warehouses by President Prabowo Subianto in West Jakarta on Friday.
Listyo informed that his office currently has 1,179 SPPGs in various regions of Indonesia.
These kitchens consist of 411 operational units, 162 in preparation for operations, 499 under construction with a target completion date of March 2026, and 107 units in the groundbreaking stage, he added.
"Once all of these SPPGs are operational, they are projected to benefit 2,947,500 people and employ 58,950 workers," he remarked.
He explained that of these, 33 SPPGs are being built in 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost) regions.
Specifically in Papua, the police are currently conducting a survey with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to identify locations for SPPG construction in the provinces of Highland Papua, Southwest Papua, and Central Papua.
"This is the manifestation of our commitment to supporting equal access to nutrition services throughout the regions. The benefits of this MBG program must be felt by all citizens, wherever they are," Listyo emphasized.
This Friday, President Prabowo inaugurated 1,179 SPPGs and 18 Polri food security warehouses at the Palmerah SPPG in West Jakarta.
A number of ministers and heads of institutions attended the event, including Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, and Head of the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) Taruna Ikrar.
