Karnavian served as the Head of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in the Sumatra region.
"He reported to me. 'Sir, from what I remember, out of 52 (affected) sites, only 10 districts have not yet returned to normal,'" Prabowo said during the inauguration and groundbreaking of 1,179 Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) and 18 National Police food security warehouses here on Friday.
The President stated that based on the report, recovery in the 10 remaining affected districts is expected to be completed within approximately two months.
"He (Karnavian) reported that, in his estimate, within two months the rest will return to normal," he said.
On the occasion, Prabowo also highlighted the involvement of state apparatus in disaster response handling.
He noted that personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) had been present at disaster sites for a quite lengthy period, ranging from several weeks to more than a month, to assist affected communities.
Prabowo assessed that the presence of the TNI, Polri, as well as related ministries and agencies on the ground, demonstrates the state's presence in addressing disaster situations.
The efforts were carried out in an integrated manner to overcome residents' difficulties and accelerate the recovery process in affected areas.
"In the past few weeks we have mobilized all our strength, working hand in hand to overcome this until now," the President said.
