Speaking at the Indonesia Economic Outlook 2026 event in Jakarta on Friday, he stated that political stability is a primary key to enduring development in Indonesia.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining security and legal certainty as the foundation for growth, ensuring that Indonesia maintains a strong track record of honoring all international agreements and financial obligations.
"We have an extensive track record. Indonesia has never defaulted in its history. We have always honored the agreements of previous governments," the president said.
Furthermore, Prabowo reiterated Indonesia's openness to investment and voiced confidence in the nation's robust recovery.
He introduced a major strategy titled "Indonesia Incorporated," which emphasizes collaboration across all elements of the nation.
This concept highlights cooperation throughout the national economy—ranging from large, medium, and small-scale businesses—with the government providing support as a facilitator.
He explained that, under this concept, large-scale businesses are expected to push and uplift smaller, more vulnerable businesses so they can grow together.
Meanwhile, the government ensures clean and fair governance while protecting the most vulnerable members of society.
The president expressed optimism that this synergy will not only help Indonesia address global challenges but also position the country as a major economic power capable of achieving prosperity for all citizens.
Indonesia recorded robust economic growth of 5.11 percent in 2025, up from 5.03 percent in 2024.
For 2026, the government has set a growth target of 5.4 percent. This expansion is expected to be supported by key strategic initiatives, including the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program and the Red and White Village Cooperatives.
