Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority strives to strengthen local businesses to build an economic ecosystem in the IKN area, which is located across parts of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara Districts, East Kalimantan.

“The Authority wants residents around the IKN to play a greater role,” said Alimuddin, an official of the IKN Authority on Saturday, when asked about local community involvement in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser.

He added that one key initiative is strengthening local businesses by enhancing their skills and sustainably broadening market access, enabling communities around the IKN to take on a growing role in developing a dynamic, productive economic ecosystem.

Intensive and interactive meetings, as well as hands-on training and collaboration, serve as capacity building and learning opportunities for local businesses, including in aspects of marketing and product development.

Local businesses are provided with various materials, ranging from product brand strengthening to creating a market management identity, product packaging management, and contemporary yet attractive sales techniques.

The IKN Authority also provides further assistance in product packaging design, packaging printing, and Intellectual Property Rights registration in accordance with the guidelines od the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Law Ministry.

"We also invite business practitioners as resource persons to share their firsthand experiences in building a business from scratch to growth," he explained.

Empowering local communities to become key players in the IKN includes developing the creative economy through the Creative Business Marketing Packaging Profitable (KUMPUL Lagi) program in IKN.

"The IKN Authority continuously holds capacity-building workshops for local businesses," he said.

The program is a follow-up to previous activities with the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, with a more adaptive approach to the development of the creative economy in the IKN, Alimuddin explained.
