Former foreign affairs minister Noer Hassan Wirajuda confirmed the topic after attending the meeting, which lasted around three and a half hours.
"Our discussion covered the BoP in the context of recent developments. The key question was whether the war in Iran will weaken the position and mandate of the board. Indonesia will assess possibilities," he told the media at the palace complex.
Wirajuda, who served as foreign minister from 2001 to 2009, pointed out that President Prabowo used the high-profile forum to spotlight escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf and anticipate spillover effects for Indonesia.
The head of state facilitated former presidents, vice presidents, and foreign ministers in scrutinizing the waning role of the United Nations and the constant disregard for international law, alluding to the tendency of superpowers to act against a rule-based order.
"We talked about the implications of the war for global security, peace, and the economy, with concerns over supplies of oil and gas," said the former minister, who served under Fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri and Sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
He further said that the meeting went smoothly, as President Prabowo favored interactive discussion and was open to input or suggestions.
"Mr. President openly responded to suggestions and thoughts from participants," Wirajuda remarked.
The meeting brought together Sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Seventh President Joko Widodo, 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, 11th Vice President Boediono, and 13th Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
Also present were ministers, state agency leaders, chairs of major political parties, and representatives from the business community.
