Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) has confirmed that national fuel stocks remain secure and are more than sufficient to meet the surge in demand during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr return travel peak.

“Ahead of the return rush, BPH Migas reiterates that national fuel inventories are in a very safe condition,” BPH Migas Committee Member Fathul Nugroho said on Monday.

Nugroho urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying. He also advised travelers in need of emergency fuel during their journey to utilize the Pertamina Delivery Service (PDS) by calling 135.

As of March 22, national fuel resilience for both subsidized and non-subsidized products remained stable.

“Distribution from Pertamina terminals to gas stations is proceeding without obstacles, ensuring that the public’s needs are well served,” Nugroho added.

He also noted that regular quality monitoring ensures all fuel meets government standards for safety and performance.

Beyond national monitoring, the agency has specifically secured supply resilience for Kalimantan.

In West Kalimantan, fuel deliveries to gas stations were ramped up starting March 20, following a coordination meeting of the 2026 National Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ramadan and Eid Task Force.

Several gas stations in the city of Pontianak have transitioned to 24-hour operations to minimize congestion.

Monitoring data from March 22 shows that vehicle queues at these stations have begun to subside.

Sales Area Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga for West Kalimantan Widhi Tri Adhi Hidayat confirmed that as of March 23, regional distribution was smooth.

Areas that previously saw long lines due to localized panic buying have since returned to normal operations.
