Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed on Monday that representatives from companies in both countries took turns presenting their agreed partnerships before the president.
The announced partnerships cover several key sectors, including the development of clean energy-based downstream projects such as methanol production from carbon emissions, oil and gas exploration, geothermal energy, and the strengthening of inclusive financial ecosystems.
"This moment serves as a strong symbol of the commitment from Indonesian and Japanese business communities to expand concrete collaboration, while also demonstrating high confidence in Indonesia’s economic prospects," he said.
The following is the list of the announced MoUs:
MoU on methanol production utilizing CO2 emissions between PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur and PT Kaltim Methanol Industri
- MoU on cooperation in trade, commerce, and investment between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Strategic cooperation for the development of the Abadi gas field in the Masela Block, Indonesia, between Indonesia's state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina and Japanese exploration and production company INPEX
- MoU on potential partnership opportunities in the upstream oil and gas sector in Indonesia and Southeast Asia between PT Pertamina Hulu Energi and INPEX
- MoU on the development of the semiconductor ecosystem in Indonesia and Japan; electronic chip design and manufacturing, as well as artificial intelligence, between PT Eblo Teknologi Indonesia and Hayashi Kinzoku Co., Ltd.
- MoU on studies ahead of the realization of the Rajabasa Geothermal Power Plant Project between PT Supreme Energy Rajabasa and INPEX
- MoU between SMBC Indonesia and Indonesia's state-owned pawnshop operator Pegadaian to contribute to Indonesia’s gold ecosystem and financial inclusion
- MoU on Indonesia-Japan Strategic Beauty Partnership between PT Nose Herbal Indo and 2Way World
- MoU on Mandiri Aviation Leasing Fund between Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund Danantara, Mandiri Investment Management, and SMBC Aviation Capital
- MoU on strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Danantara.
