Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that it had blocked 953 illegal online lending entities throughout the first quarter of 2026.

During a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, OJK’s Executive Head of Market Conduct Supervision, Education, and Consumer Protection, Dicky Kartikoyono, explained that the move followed 10,516 complaints received between January and March 2026.

He detailed that the complaints included 8,515 reports on illegal online loans, 1,933 related to illegal investments, and 68 concerning illegal pawnshops.

“The Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (PASTI Task Force) followed up on these reports by immediately shutting down 953 illegal online lending entities,” Kartikoyono stated.

In addition, the OJK also blocked illegal investment offers on several websites and applications that had the potential to harm the public.

Furthermore, through the Indonesia Anti-Scam Center (IASC), the authority has blocked 460,270 bank accounts linked to scams. The number was an accumulation from records since the center started operations in November 2024 until March 2026.

"The number of accounts that have been blocked reached 460,270, with the frozen funds belonging to victims amounting to Rp585.4 billion (US$34.3 million)," he explained.

The PASTI Task Force is also monitoring fraud reports submitted to the IASC.

In the process, the task force coordinated with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs to block 94,294 phone numbers linked to fraudulent activities. Moving forward, these efforts will be further bolstered through closer collaboration with telecommunications companies.

Regarding enforcement and consumer protection, the OJK has imposed various sanctions on financial service providers from January 1, 2026, through the end of March 2026.

These sanctions include 33 written warnings issued to 31 providers, three written instructions to three providers, and 15 fines imposed on 13 providers.

Furthermore, in terms of market conduct supervision, the authority has issued 17 administrative sanctions in the form of written warnings and 11 administrative sanctions in the form of fines.
