"Various policies to improve the quality of education will not reach their goals without a forward-looking mindset, a resilient mentality, and a steadfast mission,” he stated.
These remarks were delivered during the commemoration ceremony of National Education Day in Banyuwangi District, East Java, on Saturday, monitored online from Jakarta.
The minister emphasized that without these three elements, existing policies risk becoming mere formalities and programs that exist only to meet quantitative targets rather than delivering real impact.
He stressed that, in accordance with the 1945 Constitution and Law Number 20 of 2003 on the National Education System, education serves as a process of enlightening and building a nation’s character and civilization.
The minister added that education is an effort to nurture human potential, shaping individuals who are devout, ethical, and intelligent, as well as skilled, independent, physically and mentally healthy, honest, responsible, and democratic.
“In line with President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita (eight missions), education is a collective effort to build superior, resilient, and strong human resources to make Indonesia a developed, prosperous, and dignified nation,” he remarked.
In this regard, he expressed his appreciation and gratitude to partner institutions, both domestic and international, that have maintained strong collaborations with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
Mu'ti asserted that in the last 18 months, the ministry has laid a foundation to realize quality education for all through various regulations and ecosystems that integrate four hubs of education: school, family, community, and the media.
