He delivered the remarks during a dialogue with 200 LPDP scholarship recipients in Jakarta on Wednesday.
"We hope students studying abroad will excel and contribute significantly to Indonesia's progress," he said in a statement on Thursday.
He said scholarship recipients studying abroad should focus on contributing to Indonesia through knowledge transfer, international networking, and problem-solving skills.
Brian said scholarships are part of a sustainable national talent development ecosystem.
He said the program’s success should be measured by the quality and impact of its recipients.

"Receiving a scholarship is not the end, but the beginning of contributing to the nation," he said.
Brian stressed the importance of character, resilience, and independence in talent development.
Challenges during education, he added, help build adaptability and competitiveness.
"If we continue working hard and delivering results, we can compete globally," he said.
Brian said Indonesia has strong potential to become a developed country by leveraging its biodiversity, population, and geographic advantages through research and innovation.
LPDP Scholarship Director Dwi Larso said the program now focuses not only on access to education, but also measurable contributions to national development.
