He made the statement in a post on X following the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM) in Cebu, the Philippines, on Thursday.
ASEAN foreign ministers discussed the impact of the Middle East conflict on Southeast Asia and its people.
Sugiono urged ASEAN to strengthen internal cohesion and external engagement in addressing geopolitical challenges.
He said the growing number of countries joining the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) reflected international trust in ASEAN.
"In an increasingly volatile world, ASEAN remains a trusted, stable and reliable partner," Sugiono said.
He reiterated Indonesia's commitment to supporting Myanmar's efforts to restore stability following years of conflict, including after the amnesty granted to political prisoners such as Aung San Suu Kyi.
Sugiono also voiced support for Timor-Leste's accelerated integration into ASEAN.
He also encouraged ASEAN to accept Turkiye as a new dialogue partner.
The AMM was held ahead of the 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.
Under the Philippines' chairmanship theme, "Navigating Our Future, Together," ASEAN leaders are discussing responses to the Middle East crisis and its regional impact.
Sugiono is scheduled to accompany President Prabowo Subianto at the summit on Friday.
Indonesia will continue promoting ASEAN unity, centrality, and regional resilience, including food and energy security.
