Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto oversaw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between sovereign wealth fund Danantara and Hisense Group to explore technology-sector cooperation, officials said Saturday.

The agreement was signed at Prabowo’s Kertanegara residence in Jakarta on Friday, according to a government statement.

“The MoU marks an initial step in exploring cooperation in the technology sector,” State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said.

The agreement was signed by Investment and Downstream Minister and Danantara Chief Executive Rosan Roeslani, Danantara Chief Technology Officer Sigit Puji Santosa, and Hisense Chairman Jia Shaoqian.

Cabinet members attending included Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Higher Education Minister Brian Yuliarto.

The meeting formed part of Indonesia’s broader effort to deepen investment ties and strategic partnerships with global industrial companies.

“The meeting was warm and productive. President Prabowo welcomed Hisense’s interest in supporting Indonesia’s development agenda and industrial ecosystem,” Hadi said.

The partnership is expected to support investment inflows, technology transfer, job creation and Indonesia’s competitiveness in strategic industries.

The signing also reaffirmed both parties’ commitment to building a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership, the government said.

Last year, Danantara reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Indonesia-China economic ties during meetings held in Beijing on May 20-21, 2025.

Danantara Chief Investment Officer Pandu Patria Sjahrir said several Chinese financial and investment institutions had shown strong interest in expanding cooperation with Indonesia through Danantara.
