Bekasi, West Java (ANTARA) - The Bekasi Metro Police arrested two suspects in the murder of a 66-year-old South Korean citizen with the initial BCS after tracing the case through an investigation and evidence analysis, including CCTV footage of the suspects’ movements.

The Head of the Bekasi Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Jerico Lavian Chandra, explained that the case began with the arrest of the suspect, identified as SJ, the victim's ex-wife. Through questioning, SJ revealed the identity of the executor, identified as HW.

"We first arrested SJ on May 29. She then revealed that the perpetrator was HW," Chandra said on Tuesday.

Investigators later obtained CCTV footage showing HW heading toward the victim’s residence.

In the footage, HW is seen walking around the victim's neighborhood while pretending to make a phone call.

HW then waited outside the victim’s house until the victim’s child left the premises. He allegedly entered the house once the opportunity arose.

“He walked around while pretending to make a phone call. After that, he waited in front of the victim’s house. When the victim’s child left, the suspect immediately went through the gate and entered the residence,” Chandra explained.

The attack was carried out shortly after the suspect entered the house. Investigators found that the victim sustained 23 stab wounds during the incident, which occurred on May 26.

Police have also secured several pieces of evidence related to the case.

However, investigators are still searching for the knife believed to have been used in the killing, which was allegedly thrown into a river after the incident.

“Most of the evidence has been secured. The knife that was thrown into the river is still being searched for,” Chandra said.

The two suspects are currently undergoing intensive questioning at the Bekasi Metro Police headquarters. Investigators are continuing to examine each suspect’s role to determine the motive and the extent of their involvement in the murder.
