"Realising an independent Palestinian state requires sustainable support from the international community," Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono stated during the 5th Ministerial Meeting for the Conference on the Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD V) in the Philippines on Thursday (July 23).
According to a ministry release received here on Friday, Sugiono viewed CEAPAD as an important platform for its member states to carry out concrete actions helping Palestine through partnership.
Hence, to carry out commitments set by the CEAPAD IV Kuala Lumpur Action Plan in 2025, Indonesia will continue its capacity-building assistance for Palestine in education, health, institutions, legal reforms, security, and agricultural sectors.
This year, Indonesia has presented scholarships for Palestinian medical students and launched a trilateral cooperation with Australia to encourage dialogue in the education and law enforcement sectors.

Meanwhile, in agriculture sector, Indonesia will continue its cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to develop avocado farming in Palestine.
As the global community joins hands to help Palestine's development, Sugiono emphasised the humanitarian disaster in Gaza due to Israeli genocidal aggression should not be neglected.
"Indonesia will continue its contribution to fulfill urgent humanitarian needs through international organisations," he added.
To fulfill the commitment, Indonesia will provide US$2 million humanitarian assistance through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Palestinians in Gaza this year, the minister announced.
Sugiono also stressed the need for CEAPAD to strengthen its synergy with regional and international partners to ensure every initiative will be complete, effective, and beneficial for Palestinians who need it most.
CEAPAD was established at Japan's initiative in 2013 as a forum to support Palestinian state-building efforts by leveraging the resources, knowledge, and economic development experiences of East Asian countries.
