Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed his strong belief here Monday that Indonesia`s development this year would be successful and much better than last year`s.

"For the year 2011, we need to be optimistic that our development programs will be much more successful. There are four factors that enables us to boost our country`s development," he said.

Speaking before governors of all provinces who attended a working meeting here, President Yudhoyono said the first factor was related to the country`s ongoing growth momentum.

The second factor referring to assessments of various parties, the president said Indonesia had a great potential to be an advanced country.

The third factor was related to Indonesia`s success in handling the impacts of world`s financial crisis in 2008 and 2009.

"When the world is undergoing the economic downturns in 2008 and 2009, thank God, Indonesia is safe and it can grow up again in 2010," the head of state said.

The fourth factor was a confidence that Indonesia could resolve problems and challenges that it faced well, he said.

"This country still has problems, handicaps, and challenges but I am so confident that we can solve them properly," President Yudhoyono said.

By considering the four factors, the head of state said there were no reasons for the government not to remain confident in gaining a success in its development programs this year.

President Yudhoyono had officially opened the working meeting at about 09.00 AM Jakarta time. After having a coffee break, the session was continued with Vice President Boediono`s presentation on the government`s 2011 working plans.

Since Yudhoyono has been in power, his government has held four working meetings with all governors.

The central theme of this year`s working meeting was "Accelerating a fairly economic growth with the support of sound management and solid synergy of central and provincial governments."

Referring to the theme, the government`s prioritized aims were, among others, bureaucracy reformation, better quality of education, better health services and stocks of medication, and poverty eradication.

In achieving the targeted priorities, all ministries and central government`s institutions, as well as provincial governments had received the 2011 Approved Budget Allocations (DIPA)last December.

In his remark when handing over the DIPA last December, President Yudhoyono underlined the significance of proper timing of the disbursement of DIPA for implementing the development programs.(*)
