The strong wind also caused the collapse of many trees in Kota, Kalianget, Rubaru, Lenteng, and Batang Batang subdistricts.
"The strong wind which raged in our village at 4 am destroyed at least 22 houses," head of Pore village, Lenteng subdistrict, Farkih Praseno said here.
"There had been no reports on fatalities, and as the wind struck very early in the morning practically nobody was on the road when the trees collapsed," Batang Batang subdistrict chief, Syahwan Effendi. said.
In the meantime, at least four houses in Batu Guluk, Basoka village, Rubaru subdistrict, had been seriously hit by the strong wind.
In Kalianget subdistrict, the antenna of a private radio station in Kertasada village, broke, and its broken pieces fell on the house of the owner of the radio station.
In Kota subdistrict, many trees and a billboard collapsed.
