Lombok Barat, NTB (ANTARA News) - The media has been asked to maintain the present momentum of ASEAN and help it to remain relevant to the advancement of technology.

The request was made by the Foreign Affairs Ministry`s Director General of Information and Public Diplomacy, Andre Hadi, at a media workshop on "Indonesian and Asean Community 2015" at The Santosa Villas and Resort in Senggigi, Lombok Barat, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Saturday.

Organized by the Foreign Affairs Ministry as part of an Asean ministerial meeting from January 15-17, 2011, the media workshop was attended by more than 30 print and electronic media reporters and regional government public relations officials.

The panelists at the seminar were Indonesian permanent representative for Asean Gede Ngurah Swajaya, senior journalist Sabam Siagian, and senior lecturer of Mataram University`s economic faculty, Prayitno Basuki.

Other panelists were director of inter-regional dialog partners Jose Tavares, National Economic Committee member HS Dilon, and University of Indonesia`s Executive Director for Institute of Defense and Security Studies Connie R. Bakrie.

The media workshop was directed by two moderators in two sessions, namely Ben Perkasa Drajat of Foreign Affairs Minisry`s foreign service school for the first session and Tina Talisa of TV One for the second session.(*)
