The head of sate and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono flew by a presidential plane from Halim Perdanakusuma, eastern Jakarta, at 7.30 am local time, to Balige.
The presidential entourage includes a number of cabinet ministers. The new Batak Museum is located at TB Silalahi Center, Balige, Toba Samosir.
During his stay in North Sumatra, President Yudhoyono is also expected to dedicate a number of electricity infrastructure projects.
