"The schedule in Davos will be quite tight," President Yudhoyono said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said he would express the views and interests of developing nations at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on January 27-28, 2011.

The head of state made the statement at a press conference at the VVIP Room of Halim Perdanakusuma airforce base, east Jakarta, on Monday before leaving for India and Switzerland, for working visits until January 30, 2011.

"The schedule in Davos will be quite tight. I have been several times invited to the WEF in Switzerland, but only this time I am able to attend. The timing is right because this year Indonesia is the chairman of ASEAN and East Asian country meeting consisting of 18 nations. Second, we deserve to be there because we have been seen of achieving sound economic performance during the global crisis 2008-2009," the president said.

"I will use this opportunity to make the voices of developing countries heard in the forum," he said.

In Davos, the president will attend several panel meetings and will become a speaker in the meeting.

Yudhoyono will also deliver a speech at Energy Summit with the world`s Top Energy CEOs and officially kick off "Indonesia Co Night: Celebrating the Spirit of Collaboration and Cooperation" organized by Indonesia in cooperation with the WEF in order to promote Indonesia.

He will also attend dialogs with members of the International Business Council (IBC) and the International Media Council (IMC) of the WEF in two separate plenary meetings respectively on the redefinition of sustainable development and on trade issues.

On the sidelines of the WEF, the president will also hold bilateral meetings with French President Nicholas Sarkozy, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former US President Bill Clinton.

The presidential entourage includes Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Industry Minister MS Hidayat, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, Sports and Youth Minister Andi Mallarangeng, Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Gita Wiryawan and Chairman of the Press Council Bagir Manan, and Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa.
