Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to arrive in Kupang, capital of East Nusa Tenggara province, on February 8 to attend the peak of the 65th National Press Day celebration on the following day.

"The President and First Lady will arrive in Kupang on February 8. That is the latest information I have received from the team conducting a field survey. However, the schedule is still subject to change," East Nusa Tenggara Governor Frans Lebu Raya said on Thursday.

During his stay, the head of state will also inaugurate a peace gong and a journalistic plague commemorating the 65th National Press Day and visit a smart house.

On February 10, Yudhoyono is expected to pay a nostalgic visit in Atambua, capital of Belu district bordering Timor Leste.

In Belu, the President will meet with soldiers of the Satya Yudha Bhakti infantry battalion 744 of which he was formerly commander.

The President is scheduled to return back to Jakarta on February 11.

The governor said he had just held a meeting with district heads from throughout Timor Island to make preparations for the President`s visit in Atambua.

He expressed hope the local people would give maximum support to make the President`s visit a success.(*)
