Tehran (ANTARA News/IRNA-OANA) - Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Hamed Hasan, expressed hope on Saturday that the foreigners would not interfere in the internal affairs of the regional countries after the recent political and social developments in Egypt and Tunisia.

The Syrian envoy made the remark at a press conference in Tehran on an exhibition titled `Iran`s Advanced Technological Achievements` to be held in Damascus from February 5-10.

Hasan said that the regional governments should respect the political and social demands of the people of the region.

"The choices of the regional countries are confronting the expansionist and oppressing policies," he added.

The Syrian diplomat expressed hope that the relationship between Iran and Syria will further expand in all areas under guidance of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
